The little joys of life

After too much of advices/ pushes/ conscience shouting I finally decided to write something...Although I don't exactly know what I am going to start with. In fact, that was one reason why I was not blogging even after so many people advising me to do so. I thought some magic will happen and I will get a Hrithik Roshan type debut...Which obviously didn't happen till now :P...Not that it has happened now...But just that I have realized that nothing of that sort is actually going to happen :)...
And with that one small realization, I have not gained any enlightenment...but definitely something has changed...First of course, I started writing this blog...which had been on my to do list for a bit toooooo long now :). And secondly, this has also told me that small things matter so much more in life.
It is raining today...And its a beautiful day...This reminds me of the rains in Pune. Pune also becomes very beautiful when it rains there. And as in most parts of India, we also experience power cuts when it rains heavily. No...these rains are not reminding me of the power cuts...because we are used to it :)...What it reminds me of is my mom preparing hot tea and pakodas...And we both feasting on it, while chatting about anything and everything. These rains remind me of our college days, where we used to sit in the hostel lobbies enjoying the refreshing breeze and the light drizzles, whiling away our time like anything, talking about ALL the nonsense things that we could.
I am staying a bit too far from my home for the past two years, and when I think of it in a whiff, these two years have been pretty boring and the llleeeeaaassstttt happening years of my life. But if I think of the small things, I realize that life is never really THAT boring as we see it to be. If only we understand and acknowledge the little happenings around us.
The most recent incident that comes to my mind is the India-Sri Lanka world cup finals :). Each of us was willing to get up at 4 in the morning, but nobody was willing to watch the match alone. So, we all got up at 4 & after quite a mayhem and confusion, we managed to gather at one of our friend's place. And the joy of India winning the world cup was never the same...it had increased SO manifolds :).
Whenever I am sitting alone, these are the things that bring a smile on my face. And I thank God for making all those people a part of my life because of whom I can smile, no matter where I am :).
